Polytetraflouroethylene (TFE) and Kynar are both in short supply.

PTFE - Polytetrafluoroethylene  product PTFE (TFE) and Kynar-PVDF  manufacturing requires a mineral called Fluorspar that's mined in Mongolia and China. The world demand for this mineral has increased significantly, and the supply has tightened. PTFE materials have high temperature resistance, excellent chemical resistance and incredibly low co-efficient of friction (slick) and is utilized within a lot of applications from non-stick fry griddles to ptfe tape for home use. This mineral is a important raw materials inside the production of fluoropolymers, fluorolubricants and quite a few refrigerants. This escalating demand joined together with general shortage of raw materials is responsible for a dramatic price increase (almost double within the last year), shortages, and we expect both these factors to keep at it in the near future.
